SOBC ANNOUNCES NEW CONTEST

The Southern Ohio Bass Challenge and EPCO Products, Inc. have announced the SNAPPER Angler of the Year award. The team that has earned the most points during 2011 will receive trophies and a SNAPPER® Remote Control Boat Latch system. The Angler of the Year will be awarded at the yearend meeting at Bass Pro.

The SNAPPER is designed to make launching and catching a boat from a trailer easier, faster and safer.

SOBC runs bass fishing tournaments in southern Ohio and is affiliated with the National Bass Anglers Association.

The SNAPPER Remote Control Boat Latch is a product of EPCO Products. EPCO is the only U.S. manufacturer of stainless steel bow and stern eyes along with other marine products such as mooring eyes, lifting assemblies, hatch cover pulls and related items. EPCO holds the patent for the original bow eye design. It is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

NEW SNAPPER® REMOTE CONTROL BOAT LATCH.

EPCO Products, Inc., the leading manufacturer of bow and stern eyes for the marine industry, has introduced the SNAPPER® Remote Control Boat Latch. The remote control feature provides unprecedented safety and ease to boat launching and catching.

One person can use the remote control to release the boat from the trailer and, when returning, activate the SNAPPER® latching device for a smooth hook up. There is no need to wade into the water and on to a potentially unstable wet and slippery trailer frame.

The SNAPPER® Boat Latch features a high profile LED Light Pole that indicates whether the SNAPPER® jaws are set to receive the boat or to secure it. The Light Pole also serves as a directional guide to line up the bow of the boat with the SNAPPER®.

Here is how the SNAPPER® works. When the boat is ready to be released from the trailer, the boater pushes the remote control, the Light Pole begins to flash, and the SNAPPER® jaws are set to allow an easy release of the boat’s bow eye. When the bow eye passes through the jaws, the Light Pole turns off. Upon returning, the boater pushes the remote control, the Light Pole begins to flash indicating that the SNAPPER® jaws are set and ready to catch the boat's bow eye. The light will go off when the boat is secure.

After the boat has been pulled from the water, all the boater has to do is attach the trailer's winch hook to the bow eye and secure the tie-downs before driving away.

Other SNAPPER® features include:

  • Remote controlled from 50 feet or more.
  • 12-volt DC electrical system.
  • Waterproof connections.
  • Will not scratch or mar boat hull.
  • Salt spray tested for over 350 hours.
  • 10,000 pound pull tested.
  • Catch and release may be operated manually.
  • Anti-theft padlock feature.
  • Limited lifetime warranty.

The SNAPPER® is the only remote control boat latch. There is another boat latch product, Boat Buddy®, but it is a manual latch. The SNAPPER® can be operated manually if necessary.
